The Bridgestone Potenza S001 is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
This model is the original equipment tire of the fourth generation Mazda MX-5.
The tire offers superb summer weather traction and it grips the road well in dry and wet weather. This great traction is the result of the slanted-slug tread block sipes in the tread pattern. The tire is not recommended for use in winter conditions, as the tire compound loses its traction in colder temperatures. The tire’s three wide circumferential grooves help resist dangerous hydroplaning situations by dispersing water from beneath the footprint. The tire is safer to use in summer weather conditions thanks to these enhancements.
The tire provides great high speed performing capabilities. The dry performance of the model is owed to the extra road grip the tire gets from the special design of its outside shoulder blocks. The improved dry grip increases the tire’s high speed performance. The tire also responds well to the driver’s commands. The tread pattern’s center rib increases the tire’s controllability by offering a precise and responsive steering. This special tread pattern also helps reduce the braking distance. The tire is safer to use thanks to the shortened braking distance.
The Potenza S001 offers a more comfortable driving experience. The improved three new heat controlling technologies absorb the road vibrations and offer increased comfort levels.
